Questions

Everything locksmiths ask before they forward the line.

If yours isn't here, ask us. A real person reads it and writes back.

Getting started

What changes about how you work today. Mostly: nothing.

Can you custom-build a receptionist for my shop?

Yes. Sam, Riley, and Alex are starting points, not hard limits. We can custom-build which calls it answers, the questions it asks, the services and rules it uses, where it hands the call back to you, and whether it is allowed to book.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. You keep your number and forward it: every call, missed calls only, or after hours only. You can turn the forwarding off from your phone.

Is there a setup fee?

No. You pay the monthly price on your plan and nothing else to get started.

Do I need any other software to make this work?

No. LeadLatch does not sit on top of a field-service platform, so there is nothing else to buy first. You keep your number, your calendar lives with us, and nothing about how you already work has to change.

How long does setup take?

You give it your service area, your prices and your hours, then forward your line. It’s a sitting-down-once job, not a project.

What it costs

How the plans differ and how we work out the right price for your shop.

What does it cost?

Pricing falls into ranges based on the call minutes your shop expects to use. The exact number also depends on which calls you forward and what you want the receptionist to handle, so talk to us about your phone and we will quote your shop. There is no setup fee and no contract.

Can I move between plans?

Yes, and it is just a change to your plan rather than a rebuild of anything. If your phone gets busier, move up. If a quiet season comes, move down.

Staying in control

What it is allowed to do without you, and how you take the phone back.

Can the AI answer every call?

It can. You can set it to answer only the calls you cannot pick up, or let Alex answer every call if you want it to run the whole line.

What happens if I’m available to take the call?

If you are available, you can of course pick up the call yourself. On a missed-call setup, LeadLatch only answers when you do not.

Can it schedule appointments?

Yes. The AI can book appointments directly into your calendar based on your availability.

Can it answer questions about my services?

Absolutely. It can answer questions backed by the job types, prices, service area, and availability you configure. Broader service FAQs can be added once the shop knowledge base is connected to the live receptionist.

Will it book something I can’t actually do?

It only books inside your service area, your hours, and your job types. Everything it is allowed to offer comes from your settings, so the boundary is one you set, not one it guesses at.

What if the caller is outside my service area?

It tells them so, politely and straight away, instead of booking a job you’d have to cancel. You set what it says: refer them on, offer a different rate, or take a message.

Recordings and proof

What is kept, and how you check what was actually said.

Can it send me a summary after each call?

Booked jobs and callback leads send the shop an email with the caller’s information, address, and any appointment. Authorized shop representatives can separately opt in to operational SMS alerts for callbacks, bookings, and voicemails. Those texts carry the caller details needed to return the call, and an unacknowledged alert repeats until someone replies or the request is closed.

Will it sound like a robot?

It talks the way a dispatcher talks. It waits, it lets the caller cut in, and it reads addresses and phone numbers back digit by digit so nothing gets written down wrong. Call it yourself before you decide.

What happens if it breaks mid-call?

Today, a broken AI connection can end before the caller reaches a person. Reconnect, warm transfer, and voicemail fallback are being finished before the first pilot shop goes live.

Can I hear what it said?

If a permitted call has audio, you can play it from Calls. If it has a transcript, you can read that there too. Calls without a job still stay in Calls.

Still deciding?

The two things worth reading next are what each receptionist is allowed to do without you, and what happens to a recording once the call ends.
